Booking Questions

How can I make my reservation?

All Liberty Ship related activities and performances are private events that are just for our guests. In order to attend these events you MUST purchase your cruise through this website by CLICKING HERE, or by placing your reservation over the phone with a The Liberty Ship booking agent, at 1-800-385-0245.

Do I need a passport to go on the cruise?

The Liberty Ship STRONGLY recommends all guests travel with a valid passport, or one of the new Passport Cards. However, it is not necessarily required. PLEASE CLICK HERE for a complete explanation of the travel documentation required to attend The Liberty Ship.

What information do I need in order to book?

Before you proceed to booking, make sure you have the following information for all of your guests:

Full LEGAL Name (no nicknames please)
Date of Dirth
Citizenship
Phone Number
Email address
Any special dietary or physical needs

Please refer to the Fees, Cancelations & Transfers Information section of our PRICING page for further information about passenger name changes, transfers, and other pertinent information about your reservation.

If you are paying with multiple credit cards, you will need all of the credit card numbers (with expiration date and card verification number) as well as the billing addresses for each card.

How old do I have to be to book a cabin on The Liberty Ship?

Guests are required to be 21 years old (before embarkation day) to travel. Guests under the age of 21 must be traveling with a parent or responsible adult AND must be booked in the same stateroom or a connecting cabin. Infants must be at least 3 month old at the time of sailing.

Guests under the age of 21 traveling with a guardian 21 years or older, (who is not a parent, grandparent or court-appointed legal guardian), MUST bring an original signed letter from the absent parent/legal guardian authorizing the minor to travel with you. This will expedite processing by the Department of Homeland Security. Please note that a notarized letter to this effect is highly suggested.

Please note that adult guests are responsible for the safety and behavior of their minor guests. Guest ages will be verified at embarkation. Guests not conforming to this policy will be denied boarding and assessed a 100% cancellation penalty. NO exceptions will be made at embarkation.

What if I’m pregnant, can I still sail?

Women up to 27 weeks pregnant at the end of the cruise may sail upon presentation of a medical certificate stating they are fit to travel. MSC Cruises cannot accept expectant mothers who will have entered the 27th week or third trimester of pregnancy by the beginning or at any time during their cruise.

Are physically challenged facilities available?

The Liberty Ship and MSC welcome guests with special needs and makes every effort to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities. In order for us to provide the appropriate assistance, we request you provide us in writing at the time of booking, but no less than 2 weeks prior to departure, details of any disability or medical or mental condition which may require or make advisable special accommodations, or the use of a wheelchair or other equipment or medical treatment.

We advise guests using a wheelchair to travel with someone who is able to assist them both aboard and ashore. Some ports-of-call require tenders to go ashore and may preclude guests using wheelchairs from leaving the vessel; this decision must be made by the ship’s Master and is binding. Guests must bring wheelchairs for their own use. Only a limited amount of wheelchairs are available on board. MSC Cruises offers a limited amount of wheelchair accessible staterooms. Please note that in non-wheelchair accessible staterooms there is a 2-inch riser in front of the bathroom and doors are 29.5 inches wide.

What if I want to book a cabin as a single passenger?

MSC does not offer single occupancy cabins. You are responsible for the entire cost of the double occupancy cabin. Single Occupancy Rates are 200% of the per passenger rate, plus the mandatory government taxes, fees, and miscellaneous charges of $266 for one (1) guest.

What are the prices and payment schedule?

Rates as described on the Pricing page of the The Liberty Ship website (http://www.thelibertyship.com/pricing/), are per person based on double occupancy. The date you make your reservation will ultimately determine your total payment due at the time of booking, and the subsequent payment dates.
